Floristonline.co.za is Eros Florist cyber store.

Eros florist was established in the 1950’s in Hatfield on the door step of the University of Pretoria or TUKS Transvaal University Colledge back in the old days. Beatrice Archer’s late Mom, Molly Botha worked for Eros Florist in the early 70’s and became the proud owner on 1 December 1974. Eros Florist used to be a small stand alone shop in the centre of the lawns of Hatfield Galleries, were the bees had made there home with all the flowers, it was a winner for both as we had our own honey on tap. In 1988 Eros expanded by opening a second store in the Hatfield Plaza were we still occupy a well established florist for the students and business alike. The Plaza store is now run by Beatrice’s husband Ken Archer and an assistant. Eros Florist main store or as we all refer to as the workshop has gone through 3 moves and 1 expansion to date. We have now established ourselves at 1077 Arcadia Street in a beautiful showroom of 370 square metre premises nestled between the offices near the New Hatfield Gautrain station. A new addition to Eros has been Cafe E’, blossoming between all the flowers, were clients enjoy a relaxed tranquil meeting point were the fragrances of flowers and the smell of freshly ground coffee and light snacks meet. Clients are able to walk through the showroom and workshop area and select there own choice of quality blooms where our friendly staff will make up a bunch or two or arrange the flowers in a container of choice.

Eros Florist, Cafe E’ and floristonline.co.za are owned and managed in the very capable hands of Beatrice Archer and hubby Ken Archer. The team complement allows for each team member to take an active part in the business as there responsibilities overlap, designers and delivery teams assist with sales, sales personnel arrange flowers, making a great friendly shopping experience for our clientele. Eros Florist gives our clients a vast choice and selection with the added client service levels. Big enough to carry the stock but not too big to care.

A large variety of fresh seasonal flowers are always available. Eros Florist prides itself with the largest selection of fresh flowers by making 4 regular trips per week to the Johannesburg flower market Multiflora. Enabling ourselves to make up fresh floral arrangements to our clients’ request and delivering that special emotion on our clients’ behalf.

Not only do we carry a large variety of fresh flowers, but an extensive range of containers exclusive to ourselves through our import company Annee Moss Products. This enables Eros Florist to deliver a quality product at a reasonable price in an exclusive container, making Eros Florist once again stand out above the rest.

As you can see by our floral designs, gift hampers and general presentation, that we pride ourselves as professional florists. With a passion not only for flowers but the floral industry in general. Beatrice and Ken Archer have travelled extensively overseas to widen there scope of the business. Eros is seen as the trend setter by been innovative with design and presentation.

A passion for the industry has allowed Ken and Beatrice Archer to be an active part of the management of Interflora African Areas Ltd. Beatrice serves as director of Interflora African Areas Ltd and on the district management team as well. Beatrice also wears additional feathers in her cap, a national judge and national tutor and demonstrator. The prestigious “Strelitzia award” was presented to Beatrice in May 2009. For her contribution to the Interflora African Areas Ltd organisation. One of Ken’s passions is photography therefore all the floral designs are designed and photographed in house; We are able to photograph and have the items available with very little fuss.

As we are both active members of Interflora, we have chosen not to be a dual member of other relay organisations such as Teleflorist or work on behalf of Netflorist. We feel that we can not justly working for both Teleflorist and Netflorist, when our loyalties lie with Interflora African Areas Ltd.

In 2005 we were honoured with runner up for the Best Florist in Pretoria from the 4 annual reader choice awards presented by Pretoria News “The paper for the people of Tshwane” newspaper. In 2006 we were placed 1 St in the 5th annual readers choice, 2007 1st again in the 6th annual readers choice and 2008 we were awarded 1 St position for a 3 year in a row by the 7th annual readers choice with a record number of entries. We were delighted to be awarded 1st again in 2009 in the 8th annual readers choice and first again in 2010 in the 9th annual readers choice.  The team continues to delight our clients.

Social responsibility ranks high on Eros florist’s agenda. We have been assisting our staff with the education of their children and grandchildren for a number of years, allowing us to get to know the families. In the beginning of the 2009 school year we enrolled Bianca Ntuli into a pre-primary school in Arcadia, 2 weeks later we learnt that she had a severe hearing loss, after test were conducted we had her fitted with hearing aids, what a difference to a child of 5 and a half years old. We have been blessed with the care of the Hearing Institution as well as her new school, Eduplex, where she is taught to listen and not sign. Bianca with her very special little character has become part of Eros as she spends part of her afternoons at the shops. She has not only touched our hearts but clients as well. Bianca is now in grade 1.
